A Better Way to Get Your Coffee

Who doesn’t look forward to the first cup of coffee in the morning? Or maybe it’s a glass of orange juice. But the statistics say that coffee leads the list of favorites, as you may well have guessed.

Coffee has always been a good and bad luxury. Some would say coffee has some great health benefits like its rich in antioxidants. And some studies show it may promote insulin sensitivity or have protective effects on the brain. But on the flipside there are those who say coffee could possibly do more harm than good.

An Herbal Remedy for Altitude Sickness

One of my patients recently moved from his sea level home here in Florida to the desert mountain city of Santa Fe. He called me shortly after he moved—he hadn’t found a new doctor yet—reporting that he felt awful. He was tired all the time and grew short of breath easily. I realized at once that he was being affected by the altitude gain. He’d moved from sea level up more than 5000 feet and the thinner air was taking its toll.
